Faith Statement

I believe in a God filled with amazing grace. He shows himself in unbelievable and awesome ways. When we start to recognize God has all things in His control, we can then see His plan for us is beautiful and complete. When we see God and trust Him and His word, we also recognize that He has identified and provided for our greatest need by sending Jesus Christ. He is our Savior Who claims us and redeems us from the sin in this world. This is why I believe in the need for a Christ-centered school. We need to teach our kids to know Christ and to make Him known to a world in need.

Biography

I grew up in Holland with my parents and two brothers. After graduating from Holland Christian Schools, I attended Grand Valley to pursue a career in Criminal Justice. For ten years I worked in the CJ field, as a cadet at the Holland Police Department, and for 8 years as  Probation Officer with Ottawa County. Throughout this time I married Jeremy (a JCS graduate!) and God gave us three children. My heart was with my family so I quit working and completed a masters degree in Public Administration. During this time we also welcomed our youngest child. Through my masters work, I partnered with JCS on writing a grant, which they received! It was through this partnership my passion became even more focused on JCS; this community and school are a blessing to our family!

Faith Statement

God is love and I believe in sharing that love with everyone I encounter. Ephesians 4:2-3 says, "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace." In everything I do I try to live by those words, that I might be closer to the image of Christ.

Biography

I attended Jenison Christian as a child and now I work with some of my old teachers. It is quite interesting transition from being a student of theirs to a coworker. Later on I attended Unity Christian and went onto Grand Valley State University for my undergrad. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Photography and own a photography business. Through these experiences I am able to help Jenison Christian with their marketing efforts.

Faith Statement

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind” (Luke 10:27). This is the perfect verse for all Christian educators and coaches. For Christians, another way of stating this verse is everything we do must be worship.  When students enter my classroom or step into the world of athletics, it’s my prayer that everything that occurs is pleasing to God.  It’s worship.
