Faith Statement

Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and I stand in awe of His glory. Christ has been there for me in every circumstance and I take comfort in His presence. Proverbs 16:9 states, “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” This verse is always close to my heart. I pray that God will continue to use me to be His hands and feet in my classroom.

I am blessed to share my faith with my students  and  help them grow in their personal walk with God. Christ is my cornerstone, my all in all,and I will continue to praise His name forever in every aspect of my life.

Faith Statement

God the Father is my patient, loving Creator and Abba.  Jesus Christ is my personal Lord, Savior, and King of my life.  He is my friend who walks with me and guides me through each day.  I am so thankful for the gift of the Holy Spirit, who encourages, enables, and equips me for every step of my life journey.  I pray to make this real for my students because this needs to be a heart relationship rather than just head knowledge.  I seek to strengthen, restore, and/or renew my students’ relationships with Jesus, for that is the primary goal to me as a teacher and a believer!

Biography

I grew up in Grandville, attended Grandville Christian and Calvin Christian Schools, and then went to Dordt College.  I received both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a minor in math and also an MRS degree as I married Jeff Geels before graduating.  I taught sixth grade and middle school math for two years at Sheldon Christian in my husband’s hometown.  Then we moved to Grandville, and I taught math at Calvin Christian Middle School for two years until we started a family.  My husband and I have been blessed with five children plus a daughter-in-law.  After an extensive period of time, I returned to the classroom as a substitute teacher and then, more recently, as an aide in two different school systems.  In January I was re-certified and am now so excited to be teaching the students at JCS!

Three Fun Facts
  1. I love to do puzzles such as Sudokus, Sumdokus, Colorku, Ken Kens, etc.
  2. When I attended Dordt College, I was on the stage with George W. Bush, who was vice president at the time. (Yes, I know that dates me.)
  3. I have been blessed with numerous family vacations and because of that, I have been to at least 43 states and 10 foreign countries.  What a beautiful world God has given us!

Faith Statement

I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that he has given us the blueprints of how we are to live for Him in the Bible. Jesus commands us to make disciples of all nations and teach them to obey his decrees. I believe that all Christians can do this no matter what position they are in.
