4th Grade Teacher
I believe in Jesus Christ who came into this world to die for me on the cross and who rose from the grave 3 days later. Through Jesus’ blood on the cross, my brokenness and sin have been redeemed by His amazing grace and love. I am a child of the King of Kings and have been created fearfully and wonderfully to do His good works here on earth. God has called me to share His unconditional love and grace to all those around me especially to the lives of His little children.
I grew up in Zeeland, Mi and attended Zeeland Christian School and then Holland Christian High School. Starting at a young age, I would babysit for families in our neighborhood and for families in our church. As I grew older, I participated in our church youth group and often went on lots of short mission trips around the U.S. to volunteer and help other schools and communities. Through these mission trips, I fell in love with working with kids and in schools. I knew then that God was calling me to be an educator. I attended Calvin College and received my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. A few years after graduating from college, I met my husband Ben on a “blind date” set-up by a mutual friend. We now take lots of joy in our beautiful daughter Aliyah.
