FAITH STATEMENT
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind” (Luke 10:27). This is the perfect verse for all Christian educators and coaches. For Christians, another way of stating this verse is everything we do must be worship.  When students enter their classrooms or step into the world of athletics, it’s my prayer that everything that occurs is pleasing to God.  It’s worship.
 
BIOGRAPHY
I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI.  I graduated from Central Christian High School in 1972.  I attended Calvin College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in secondary education with a major in math and a minor in physical education.  Through the course of my teaching career, I have taught at Denver Christian Middle School, Hudsonville Christian Middle School, and Unity Christian High School. I have been a part of the JCS community for over 30 years and served on the board for nine years.
 
THREE FUN FACTS:
  1. I spent more than half my career teaching in a portable classroom.
  2. I love watching animated movies.
  3. I have the uncanny ability to make at least one wrong turn every time my family takes a vacation.
